Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

Pet Care Log ("the App", "we", "our", "us") is developed and maintained by Buzzmoy, an independent app developer. If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy, you can reach us at developer.buzzmoy@gmail.com.

2. Information We Collect

We collect two categories of information: data you enter into the App, and data collected automatically by the App or its third-party services.

2.1 Data You Provide

Everything you enter in Pet Care Log is stored only on your device using your device's local storage. This includes:

• Pet profile data — name, species, breed, birth date, weight, gender, color & markings, nickname, spay/neuter date, photo
• Health & medical records — chronic conditions, blood type, allergies (food, medication, environmental), ongoing treatments
• Identification & registration — microchip number and brand, license number, AKC/CKC registration number
• Insurance details — provider name, policy number, renewal date, coverage notes
• Owner & emergency contacts — your name, phone numbers, email, address, and emergency contact details you choose to enter
• Veterinarian information — vet name, clinic, phone, and address
• Care logs — feeding events, medication records, grooming sessions, vet visits, vaccination records, health journal entries
• Reminders — titles, dates, and times for care reminders

None of this data leaves your device. It is not transmitted to our servers or stored in the cloud.

2.2 Data Collected Automatically

The following data is collected automatically to help us improve the App:

• Crash reports (via Firebase Crashlytics) — anonymous crash logs including device model, OS version, and stack trace at the time of a crash
• Usage analytics (via Firebase Analytics) — anonymised events such as which screens are visited and how long the App is used, with no personally identifiable information attached
• Performance data (via Firebase Performance) — app startup time and screen rendering performance
• Advertising data (via Google AdMob) — device identifiers and ad interaction data used to serve relevant ads to non-premium users
• Purchase data (via RevenueCat) — subscription status and transaction identifiers to manage your premium subscription

3. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and improve the App's core features
• To diagnose crashes and fix bugs (Crashlytics)
• To understand which features are most useful (Analytics)
• To serve advertisements to non-premium users (AdMob)
• To manage and verify your premium subscription (RevenueCat)
• To send care reminders you have scheduled (local notifications only — no remote push to our servers)

4. Third-Party Services

The App integrates the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:

Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, Performance)

Firebase is a Google product. Data processed by Firebase is subject to Google's Privacy Policy. We have configured Firebase to collect only anonymous, aggregated data. No pet records or personal identifiers from your pet profiles are sent to Firebase.

Google AdMob

Non-premium users see ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may use device advertising identifiers to show relevant ads. You can opt out of personalised advertising through your device settings (Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalisation on Android). Premium subscribers see no ads. AdMob is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

RevenueCat

In-app purchases and subscriptions are processed through RevenueCat. RevenueCat receives anonymous user identifiers and purchase transaction data to validate your subscription. No pet data or contact information is shared with RevenueCat. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.

Google Play (Android)

App distribution and payment processing on Android are handled by Google Play, subject to Google's Privacy Policy.

5. Data Storage and Security

All pet records, health data, and personal information you enter are stored exclusively in your device's local storage using Android's secure SharedPreferences system and local file storage. This data is:

• Never uploaded to any server operated by us
• Accessible only through the Pet Care Log app on your device
• Protected by your device's own security (screen lock, encryption)

PDF exports generated by the App are saved to your device's local storage and shared only when you explicitly choose to share them. We never receive copies of exported PDFs.

Important: Uninstalling the App will permanently delete all locally stored data. We recommend using the App's export feature to back up important records before uninstalling.

6. Notifications

Care reminders are delivered as local notifications — they are scheduled and triggered entirely on your device. No notification content (reminder titles, dates, or pet names) is transmitted to any server. You can manage notification permissions at any time through your device's Settings app.

7. Children's Privacy

Pet Care Log is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at developer.buzzmoy@gmail.com and we will take steps to delete such information.

8. Your Rights and Choices

• Access & deletion — Because your data is stored locally on your device, you can view, edit, or delete any record directly within the App at any time. Uninstalling the App removes all data.
• Analytics opt-out — You can opt out of Firebase Analytics data collection through your device's privacy or ad settings.
• Ad personalisation — You can disable personalised ads through your Android device settings.
• Notifications — You can revoke notification permission at any time in your device settings.

9. Data Retention

Your pet data is retained locally on your device for as long as you use the App or until you delete it. Crash and analytics data collected by Firebase and AdMob is subject to those services' own retention policies (typically 14–90 days for crash data; up to 14 months for analytics). RevenueCat retains purchase records for the duration required by applicable law.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and, for material changes, provide notice within the App. Continued use of Pet Care Log after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
